Passionate Strides: Hope for Children Foundation board member combines her passion for running and kids into the perfect fundraiser!

s Erin O’Brien was preparing to make her way downtown to participate in her first 5K Charity Challenge at the Scotiabank Waterfront Toronto Marathon (STWM) with the Hope for Children Foundation (HFC) Team, she was excited and confident about doing well in the race. Months of training and fundraising led up to the event—a 12,000-person walk/run starting at the Toronto Exhibition Centre and finishing at City Hall in support of local charities. Erin did very well in the 5K race, finishing 12th out of approximately 300 runners in her age group, and she was the 3rd highest fundraiser on the HFC Team raising $2,685!

Adopt-a-Family shows someone cares at Christmas

Written by Michael Swan, The Catholic Register
Mary Hatch is comfortably retired from a career in banking that
saw her take on various managerial roles. Her kids are in university and starting
careers. She lives in one of Toronto’s leafy old neighbourhoods where the
houses sell for un-godly sums.
